FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I don't do contracts. The reason why is simple: I don't want my clients to feel like they are held captive. I typically sell six-session packages, although I do monthly recurring billing as well. My pricing structure is flexible (and much cheaper than the big-box gyms), so I bet we could find a solution if you're looking for a trainer.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a free 30-minute consultation/evaluation, which includes a chat to see if we'd be a good fit. I don't take on new clients very often, but I want to make sure we are compatible and – more importantly – that I can help the client reach her or his goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified through American Council on Exercise (ACE). Certifications are great and all, but my approach to fitness started even before I was a trainer. I was into functional fitness – a term that hadn't even gained traction – and used the TRX and bodyweight exercises for years. As a hockey player, I also became interested in sports performance. I've attended strength coach conventions and can put clients through all the squats, deadlifts and bench presses they want, but that approach isn't suitable for most people. I train people how I train, something I don't think many trainers do.
