WHO IS CAPABILITY BROWN? Despite his unfamiliar name, Lancelot Brown, commonly know as Capability Brown , was a very influential English Landscape Architect during the latter half of the eighteenth century. His dynamic influence was responsible for the conversion English Gardens from the widely accepted formal French Baroque style of landscape design, imposing upon the gardens of grand scale estates in England: to the Ecological style of the contemporary landscape of todays English country. While not always apparent, Capability Brown's technique recreated representative forms from an ideal form or pattern, modeled after nature, and impose these representative forms upon the English Landscape. Today, his work continues to remain an integral part of the Natural Landscapes of English Landscape Architecture. With almost 40 years experience and degrees in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design - Horticulture and a strong 4th generation masonry and stonework background there are few things that I can't do or haven't done.
