FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I ask them to review my playlist and let me know what songs they want me to make sure I play and if there are any songs they'd like me to learn for their event. I usually am able to accommodate such requests on fairly short notice. I ask them about the space so I can determine whether I need to bring my PA system or not. And I let them know what time I'll arrive to set up and sort out where I will be able to plug in (if I'm using my PA).
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
When I finished my first Thumbtack gig, the clients paid me extra and told me I had undersold myself. It was great to hear and I felt proud that the hard work I'd put into learning about 8 new songs just for them had been recognized.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Don't make price your first priority. Ask the musician for their playlist and ask them if they can add some specific songs you'd like to hear. If they can't and their playlist doesn't fit you, they won't be a good deal even for free. If they can and it does, the party will be a great success.
