I hired JT Handyman (Albert) to perform concrete pool deck/walkway painting (two coats) and to install a 9' x 50' windscreen along our cyclone fence. He did an excellent job on both tasks. He took very good care to tape off areas around the pool coping and French drains to ensure a neat paint job and to avoid improper spillage. Albert was very concerned that the quality of the work was up to both our standards. He checked in with me several times to make sure of that. Because he used up all the paint, but felt that two sections of our deck could use another coat, he offered to come back and paint them at no additional charge when I purchase more paint. With respect to the windscreen, he did a far superior job to people who installed previous windscreens. Finally, I found the price that he quoted was reasonable. Based on this experience, I highly recommend Albert and will seek him out for other projects.

Exceptional attention to detail. Superior craftsmanship. Simple explanations.
I had some problematic mixed material doors that were breaking their hinges. Had 3 "door and window" people from Thumbtack come by to look at them. Everyone said "yes I can fix it" but couldn't actually explain what the problem was. JR showed up, diagnosed the problem and then scheduled the repair visit.
Doors are working flawlessly now.

Albert was initially very responsive. He made several suggestions that I took him up on. This made a simple repair a much bigger job than anticipated. I spent over $3,000. As the project went on, I experienced several delays that I chalked up as typical contractor headaches. For example, the replaced exterior doors sat on my lawn for several weeks.
Several months after the work concluded, one of the doors that Albert installed began to malfunction. The storm door barely closes and I am afraid to open the exterior door since it sticks. I contacted Albert since he guarantees his work. It's been several weeks of frustrating back and forth trying to get this addressed. I am at the point where I will likely have to pay another contractor to fix this problem. I get that Albert has a small team and is juggling many projects, but trying to deal with a problem I thought I paid to fix is stressful on my end as well.
While I am glad I got the work done, I wish I had shopped around a bit more.

Albert is very knowledgeable and helpful. I hired him to fix a sink that needed to be reinstalled and to repair a shelf. There was some down time while waiting for the epoxy to dry so he offered to help me with some other odd jobs around the house. He was very kind and took the time to explain what he was doing.
