I am very pleased write an evaluation concerning Mr. Michael Duhs work as an arborist at Tree Works, 501-942-2523. I live west of Charlottesville off Garth Road and began to employ Mike in 2003 after Hurricane Isabel struck the area and left a large tree resting on my home. Mike very successfully removed the offending tree, cut the trunk into fourteen inch pieces (so that I could split the wood at a later date), wood chipped its many branches, and cleaned up the area. From that date to the present, November 2014, Mike has cut down approximately eight large (over one hundred foot), dying or dead oak trees that offered a danger to my home and/or person, trimmed other types of large trees to prevent them from falling, as well as cleaned a large area of fallen, decayed trees by cutting them up and wood chipping the debris. Mikes twenty-six years in the business provides him with the highly desirable skill of determining exactly where a tree will fall so that it avoids hitting buildings and/or other trees, which could cause a domino effect. He does not bring heavy equipment on to the property which may create damage. Rather, he simply completes his calculations regarding the best approach to the situation, climbs the tree, and takes it down from the top, if necessary, until he can successfully chainsaw the tree at the bottom and drop what remains of the tree trunk in a safe manner. He completes these tasks in a timely, business-like, competent manner. Mike is courteous, on time, and thoroughly professional. His prices are reasonable, especially considering the possible consequences of his work, his twenty-six years of experience and corresponding high skill level. Mike occasionally brings his nineteen year old son as his helper on the ground. I was greatly impressed by this teenager, who, in fact, approached his work as an adult; he worked hard and steady with a positive attitude. Although Mike generally works in parts of the Shenandoah Valley, he has recently expanded his work area to include Albemarle County and the Charlottesville area. This inclusion of our city and surrounding area is certainly a boon for us. I would give Mike and Tree Works my highest recommendation. If potential customers would like to personally speak with me, or even visit our property, such arrangements could be made through Mr. Du.

Treeworks is a business that provides professional care of trees by a certified arborist. The owner, Mike Duh, has extensive training and experience in tree care. For owners he identifies the species of trees and their diseases and explains how trees may be cared for to prolong tree life. The work done is always neat and all cut branches are removed. Other wood can be left for fireplaces at the owner's request. Treeworks can also provide mulch and sees that it is properly placed around plants. Prices are reasonable and the work is conveniently scheduled to fit the homeowner's and the work is conveniently scheduled to fit our schedules. The work is completed in a day or day and a half.

We had trees to be cut down and others that needed to be trimmed. Michael contacted us immediately and came by and gave us a very reasonable quote. He offered good advice and was willing to work with us on what we wanted. He came on the day he promised and completed the work by the time he said he would be finished. He was polite and professional and when he finished the job, there was no mess or cleanup that needed to be done by us. Overall a very positive experience, we have no complaints!

Tree removal and trimming done entirely by climbing with ropes and equipment over 3 days. Kept me informed of his schedule. Cleaned up after job, and left us with wood chips for walking paths. Strong arbor knowledge. Has other job in mornings, so can only come after 1pm generally - a little tight for daylight in winter. Overall, very pleased with Treeworks.

After forestry school, this was the closest paying job available & I enjoy it even now.
