FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
At Pura Vida Moving, our junk removal pricing is based on volume to keep things straightforward. A full pickup truck load (F250 8-foot bed) costs $150, and a full 16-foot trailer load is $500. We don’t charge per item, bag, or box for most removals. Certain items like tires, paints, and chemicals require special handling fees—$15 per car tire ($20 with rim), $5 per gallon-sized paint or chemical container, and $30 for five-gallon buckets. We prioritize donation, recycling, and proper disposal of all items. Some people charge for pickup and then dump your items improperly on the side of the road, we make sure your belongings are handled responsibly. Our moving prices are based on volume of items, weight, time and labor required, distance from pick up to drop off, and supplies needed. We prefer to do in person estimates for moving and can accommodate your busy schedule.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When you contact us, we’ll ask for your name, phone number, and a description of the items to be removed (photos are always appreciated!!). We’ll confirm where the items are located and provide you with an estimate based on volume. After scheduling a convenient pickup time, we’ll discuss parking details to avoid any surprises. We’ll send you a confirmation message and notify you 15-20 minutes before we arrive on the day of service.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I bring years of experience working in the moving and furniture industries, including positions at Haverty's Furniture, Offenbachers, Churchill Living, and various moving companies. This background has given me valuable skills in handling complicated and bulky furniture safely and efficiently. Along with years of real estate cleanouts, downsizing, donation runs, and construction debris removal, I’m well-prepared to manage even the toughest jobs. All of my employees are professional movers who I have trained myself. They know better than to scratch your walls or scuff your floors.
