FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is based on years of experience performing patent searches in the files of the US Patent and Trademark Office. An average search for a mechanical device should take approximately 4 hours ... sometimes less sometimes more. We base our pricing on the average.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After the initial contact by phone or email we request that the client forward a document disclosing their inventive idea and pay our retainer via our website. The document does not have to be in any particular form. Even a scan of a handwritten/drawn disclosure is sufficient if we can understand the concept once we have reviewed the document. We will then contact the client again to ensure that we understand the parameters of the search. After performing the search we will report to the client our results and include PDF copies of any relevant citations we find.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have been performing Novelty, Infringement and Validity searches in the files of the US Patent and Trademark Office since the late 1970's.
