I needed two Klipsch AW650 outdoor speakers mounted on vinyl siding at the back of my house over my deck, with the speaker wires run to an entertainment center in my family room. My installation is a little tricky because the speakers sit on opposite sides of a large bay window and my family room wall sits above the stairs leading to my basement. My preferences were (1) speaker wires run under the vinyl siding hidden from view and (2) no drywall repairs or painting would be needed. Three or four contractors made site visits. I did not hire either contractor because they either wanted to drill through my drywall into house, which would require drywall repair and painting, or their price was way too high. One contractor sent me a quote of $1,800 without doing a site visit. None of them wanted to run the speaker wire beneath the siding because they could not guarantee they would not damage my siding. Nick did a site visit, and we discussed a couple of options that would meet my preferences. On installation day, Nick ran speaker wire beneath horizontal siding surfaces, or it was slid into vertical siding crevices, run beneath the bay window, or in the horizontal crevices between the vinyl siding and deck floor. Nick used matching colored caulk to further hide the speaker wire where needed. Nick drilled one hole into my family room wall behind my entertainment cabinet. Over the hole he installed a low voltage bracket, and in the bracket an RCA wall plate. He connected the speaker wires to each speaker and to the RCA wall plate. This might all sound easy, believe me it was not. Nick had to work around several thorny routing problems; the “stairs to the basement” challenges; and the “Nick, please don’t crack any of my vinyl siding” risks. He did not crack any of my vinyl siding. Nick knows his craft and he is very professional; his work ethic and attention to detail are exceptional; and he’s a nice guy. I am very happy with his work, and I will certainly use Nick again. (BTW, the speakers sound great!)
