Mr.Jones was my teacher for two years at my school. He is my favorite teacher. In his class, he did not only taught us about the knowledge in history, but he also taught us the methodology of historical analysis. He was also open to us just to talk to him, not necessarily about the history and the class. Also, thanks to his patient help, I finished the U.S history class with an A as an international student who had never learn U.S. history before. The two history classes that I had with him would be the highlight of my high school.

I had Chris Jones as a history teacher for three years. From freshman to junior year, Chris witnessed my work ethic grow as well as me as a woman of the future. I blame my lack of maturity for not realizing until my last two years of high school, the dedication and care Chris Jones puts into his teaching. He always kept a smile on his face, he made his lesson plans with a dynamic that kept his students engaged, from team debates, to creating Civil War film scripts, to partnering up and making slideshows, to writing journal entries. Another thing that made Chris Jones stand out was his genuine care for his students. In my last year of high school, I would go to Chris for guidance, and he would provide me useful life advice. One of the most valuable things a teacher could ever give a student is ears to comprehend and a wise mind to give advice. And Chris gave that to me.

I have taught high school History and Social Studies for over twenty years, served as History Department Chair at Edmund Burke School in Washington, DC and Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart in Bethesda, MD, and hold a Master's degree in U.S. Diplomatic History from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science (International Relations) from Columbia University in the City of New York (an Ivy League institution.) I have also taken significant professional development coursework to constantly improve my teaching and administrative capabilities. In the United States Navy, I served as an Intelligence Specialist in the U.S. Naval Reserve Intelligence Program and was decorated for duties performed following 9/11.
