FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Fees are based on type and complexity of service, time required on project, timeframe for completion, and perhaps other details particular to the project. I give discounts on packaged services, as well as on ongoing commitments for services such as lessons and tutoring.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first meet with the client to discuss the details of what they are looking for and how we might best work together. We then iron out an agreement about how to move forward to meet their particular needs, and to arrange scheduling, fee payments, and delivery of any completed work products.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a doctorate in Anthropology and I am trained to do research and teach in all four sub-fields including archaeology, physical (or biological) anthropology, linguistic anthropology, and sociocultural anthropology. I also have specialized advanced training in photography and studio arts; behavioral health, trauma, medicine, and healthcare; medical writing, international law; user experience research and design; and pedagogy and teaching. I have more than 25 years of professional experience as a writer, editor, and graphic designer, and have taught high school and university students in both field school and classroom settings, in a variety of subjects including immersive Spanish, Anthropology, Archaeology, Maya Studies, Human Rights, Social and Environmental Justice, among others. In addition, I have several years of experience in User Experience (UX) Research and software design and development.
