Our home is in the Hessian Hills neighborhood in Charlottesville. We hired Charles' company, Monticello Painting, to paint the trim and wrought iron railings on our brick house, to stain the deck and shed, and to repaint our bathroom vanity. We are very satisfied with his work. To determine his bid, Charles thoroughly checked the house to find out what needed attention, such as peeling paint and wood damage, which he proceeded to scape, sand, prime, paint, and replace as needed. We were also pleased by Charles' knowledge and experience when recommending the most appropriate products, such as a rust inhibitor for the wrought iron and a wood stain he thought was the best on the market. We found Charles and Steven to be honest, fair, trustworthy, and pleasant to work with. We recommend Monticello Painting without reservation.

Charles Langton did an excellent job in our house repairing and painting plaster walls using oil paint. He is familiar with all the very crucial prep requirements and all the materials available and their usage. The job was executed exactly as timed and very neatly. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My quotes are based on a $26 an hour rate. We also work hourly if that's preferred.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Make them take a look at the work and give a flat quote. Explaining what I will perform in a written quote that is detailed enough to use for a contract. This way you know what you're getting there's no surprises or shortcuts.
