I needed some help completing the setup for Quickbooks for my startup company. Another bookkeeper had set it up originally, but had made some mistakes. Dawn was able to get them corrected quickly, and gave me clear instructions for moving forward. We had budgeted 8 hours for the session, but we needed less than 3.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most business owners I have encountered prefer to be quoted an hourly rate. That is how I price my services. Once a routine is established, I recommend a set monthly rate for bookkeeping and accounting services to make it easier to budget.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My certification as a bookkeeper and my ERO status require 60 credits of continuing education every year. Because of this my knowledge base is always current.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was keeping the books for my father's business when I was trying to decide on a major in college. I enjoyed the work and decided to study it and continued to establish a career in accounting.
