Introduction: Bullen and Sons, LLC is a licensed and insured "Home Improvement Contractor" (meaning we're licensed for roofing, siding, framing, finish carpentry, flooring, tile, masonry, concrete, decks/porches, etc...). We're also a Veteran Owned Small Business, which basically just means we served in the Marine Corps and don't earn a billion dollars each year. While we strive to offer the most competitive and transparent pricing, choosing a contractor (like a realtor, auto mechanic, dentist, etc.) is a relationship, and our advice is to always pick the company that you feel most comfortable with.

Howard has excellent communication skills. He made sure we were clear on the details of the deck my wife and I wanted. He stayed in touch well while waiting on inspections and when weather didn’t permit work. He and his brother built us a phenomenal free standing deck! I would feel comfortable saying their craftsmanship will stand toe to toe with anyone in this area. Without being too specific his team went the extra mile for us! We are incredibly pleased with our deck and will not hesitate to hire again for our next job (probably a fence). Thank you so much guys!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Rates are always negotiable! When quoting on work through Thumbtack, especially if the job description is vague or there is no picture of the work area, pricing needs to almost assume a "worst case" scenario. But if cost is a primary concern, we're always open to negotiating and coming up with ways to help reduce cost - whether that is the customer purchasing the materials or having flexibility on start times.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When at all possible, it's always best to meet and look over the work that needs to be done. This helps to reduce and uncertainty about expectations, but it's always best to put a face to the name!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Eight years as a Combat Engineer in the Marine Corps and a lifetime of home repairs! But more importantly, Bullen and Sons is a licensed Home Improvement Contractor
