The movers were great and worked efficiently. No complaints about work at all. But it should be noted that your time begins when they leave the office. And when they return, I did not find this out until they showed up. I'm not sure if this is industry standard but it was not something I expected. Their hourly rate, however, was competitive so I wasn't upset because they were still cheaper than other movers. And the office responded quick as compared to the other companies I had contacted. Broke over $1,000 worth of furniture Edit: I did sign a waiver; though, the onsite movers provided misleading information about the items that were broken. Regardless, the most expensive claim, the blinds, was not something that was part of the move but rather damage to the new residence. It was originally accepted until the quote was received (since they are custom, aluminum blinds (see damage photo), the quote provided by the installer and leasing company was $600).Jul 3, 2017VerifiedLinda S.'s reply
Our guys did nothing to his blinds and this was not even mentioned until he did not get his deposit back from the rent. He had to blame someone. He contacted me months after the move wanting money.

I was told that the drive time was included in the price and my move estimate was 2 hours total. When the movers arrived I was notified that the drive time was not included and 30 minutes was gone already. I'm on a budget so I was only able to have them move the furniture. I had to move the boxes by myself with a herniated disc. Lauren I went back over all of our correspondence and it was VERY clear that you were on the clock from the time the guys left our warehouse in RVA by the Chesterfield airport and stops when they return. You are in Mech. I did not mislead you. In reality do you think that a move could be done in all of 2 hours. We sometimes hear what we want to hear. My guys are hard workers and they did do your move which also was on the 4th floor! Steps alone take time and you had a lot to move. I try very hard to make sure that every customer understands the hourly rate. But sometimes they only hear what they want to. Our guys also did not say that this happens when it only happened twice in 10 years!
The movers were great. However there was definitely a miscommunication with the cost. I was told prices that were quoted to me included travel time and 3 men. Only 2 men came and when it was time for paper work I was told I needed to pay travel for 30 min from his shop and I was charged for travel time to his next job. Shouldn't the next customer be paying for travel time to their place. I'm still confused and was never provided a clear answer to why I was charged for time that was supposed to be included. Kaprisha we always agreed on 2 guys for your move. It was small and did not require the labor of more than that. I am very pleased that the job went great as you stated that is what we strive for. Our customers also get charged travel from our warehouse in Midlothian and back after the job. We don't charge to the next job. Most locations are about 15 - 20 minutes away from our central location.

- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?The cheapest is not always the lowest cost. If the cheapest company breaks or damages your furniture, the cost is really higher. The cheapest estimate may be due to hidden cost not shown up front. Cheaper could mean longer. Cheaper could also include paying from their shop to your home and then back after the job. This adds additional cost that you may not know about. Know what you are paying for in the estimate.
