What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I provide some special pricing packages. I also quote by the project. All projects get 3 proofing rounds with each price quote. I meet budgets from Thumbtack bids.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We discuss what they are looking for. Sometimes my services are package deals but most of the time I need to discuss what the client's needs are. After all how can I quote a job if I don't know what your specific needs are? Everyone's needs are difference.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from an accredited School of the Arts in Commercial Design with a Printmaking minor. I've been in business for over 21 years. I've won awards and have supported local business associations.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I'm an artist from the age of 3. I've always been an artist through my schooling years. And when I started my career I chose to be a commercial graphic designer and I evolved into a marketing and advertising expert. I own a small business just like yours.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All aspects of marketing, website development and graphic design for solo-preneurs and small businesses. I work with corporations in specific needs and positions as a part of a team.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Developed a 42 page website for a retail company in Illinois working as lead customer support, project manager and web designer. On a smaller note I developed a website for Eileen Bedell who is running for Congress. She is very pleased and has left a testimonial here at Thumbtack.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would be very careful in hiring someone that does not a professional at the service that you are asking a bid for. It's not always about price but that you are treated in a professional manner and that the person you are working with has business ethics. I have a proven record of working with business owners for over 21 years. I have many satisfied customers.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
A budget is important. But I like to talk with clients to see what their needs are. Most of the time I bring something to the table that the customer has never thought of which adds value and can be an improvement to the first thought process.
