Christian Johnston Photography

Virginia-based photographer with over 20 years of experience creating compelling images for private clients, publications, and brands. My background in television, film production, and animation at Viacom’s MTV and VH1 gives my photography a cinematic, storytelling edge. I began my photography career in New York as a contributing photographer for the New York Post, commissioned by magazines and private clients alike. I also received a grant from the Brooklyn Arts Council and sponsorship from the New York Foundation for the Arts for my project “The Fisherman of Sheepshead Bay,” and have exhibited work in galleries in Virginia and NYC and spoken at institutions such as The New School. From portraits, headshots, and engagements to commercial, fashion and event photography, I bring a calm, professional presence and a strong visual eye to every shoot.
