Pavemaster showed up at 3:40 in the afternoon on a late fall afternoon. They assured me they could finish before dark. They couldn’t. The first thing they did was dump all the trash in their truck in the street in front of our house. They said they couldn’t go for asphalt with trash in the truck. When they couldn’t finish by dark, they left their big diesel truck in front of our house all night. We live on a narrow private road. Parking a big truck does not allow any emergency vehicles down the street if necessary. Pavemaster never asked permission to park the truck there overnight. They asked for a check that night even though they were not close to being finished. They came back to seal the driveway and do the edges and fix some uneven spots they couldn’t see because they were working in the dark. They dropped hot asphalt on our brick sidewalk. I asked them to get it up. (Should I have to ask?) Jack said he would need a wire brush to do that and he didn’t have one. When I told him you should not use a wire brush on masonry because it leaves marks, he accosted me and said, “Well, how do you want me to get it up?” I don’t know, but it’s their business. They should know how to do it and have the tools to do it. Pavemaster did not use a bonding agent between the old asphalt and the new asphalt to help the surfaces adhere. They left marks on the street in front of our house. When they picked the trash back up, they used a bobcat with grapplers which dug into the street. It is a family business, but the two youngish sons, Joe and Jack, are running the show. They are both arrogant and surly. The father just does as told. The kids need someone to mentor them. With all the asphalt companies out there, there is no reason to use Pavemaster.

You received a beautiful job, and work was done exactly as described. I asked you if we can leave the truck and you told me it was okay. I even offered to move it, but you gave me the okay to leave, but if you want to lie, what can I do? You were extremely rude to us, and lacked any kindness. I have never worked for someone as rude and bitter as you. Thank you.
