EXCELLENT. Had material that I wanted turned into a bedspread. Though I included the fabric specifications, I did not know what else to state. I have no knowledge of sewing, quilting, fabric, thread, backing, etc. I just liked the fabric and thought it would be easy to turn into a bedspread. The fabric was in three pieces because of width and because it had a pattern, so there was a wide central piece and two side pieces that needed the pattern to be matched. All I knew was that I wanted the pieces sewn together. Patti needed more information from me and was extremely clear and patient. Backing? What is that? Why do I need that? She explained. Color? Something somewhat matching the grays in the pattern. Did I want to send the backing or have her pick out? Had her pick out. She sent me a picture of her suggestion which was perfect. Batting? What’s that? Why would I want that? Again, she explained. How heavy/thick? No idea. Just wanted as lightweight as possible. Quilt pattern? She explained why just sewing the fabric to the backing around the edges would not be enough. Asked for her recommendation which I am very glad I did as it was a beautiful complement to the fabric pattern. Patti was very kind in her dealings with me and never showed any frustration at my lack of knowledge. In the end, I received a beautiful quilted bedspread. I learned from a friend knowledgeable with fabric and she said my fabric must have been a bear to work with. Patti sent me a final invoice and I asked her if it was difficult working with the fabric. She mentioned she did break more than a few needles and dealing with the trim that I wanted to be of the same material was a challenge, but that the price she quoted me was the final price. Though, she said nothing more was requested or needed, I sent her more than she asked for anyway. She also included cleaning instructions which I appreciated. Patti is the best!

I’m in awe with the quality of the work. Everything came out exactly as asked. The pictures on the quilt are very clear. I would say I wish it was slightly heavier. But I’m very happy with the work. And would recommend to everyone.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For long arm quilting services - beginning at $.02 / inch for edge to edge designs. price / inch increases due to level of customized quilting chosen. For custom quilt creation, pricing is based upon the size of the requested quilt. Price will be all inclusive, you will receive a completely finished quilt with no hidden charges or fees. I sell batting at $12 / yard I will provide binding and trimming services for an extra charge.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A hand made quilt is a wondrous thing. I will talk with you and together we will arrive at a mutually agreed upon design. The quote you receive from me will be based upon that agreement, and is open to adjustments should you decide to either increase or decrease the amount of customization in your project. Thread choices, pattern design, etc. are your choice. I will provide advice and help you with your decisions. In the end the final product will be yours, I want you to be happy with it.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been sewing for nearly 30 years , quilting for five years, and Long-Arming quilting for myself and others for 2 years. I have taken numerous classes, both locally and at nationally offered events. I belong to two area Quilters Guilds: Stone House Quilters Guild (of which I am the Secretary and member of the Board) and Cabin Branch Quilters Guild.
