FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I believe in straightforward pricing and no hidden charges. My premium wedding DJ service is $795 for up to 6 contiguous hours (not including setup and breakdown time). Holiday weekends can be a little more, and the winter off-season is a little less. I offer several types of discounts, which typically would already be applied in your initial quote. If I quote on a request that I know to be significantly more than 50 miles away, I will include a nominal travel fee. My quotes on Thumbtack are always custom generated according to your specific date, time, location and options requested. Costs for any extras such as portable generator, professional DMX lighting, a second sound system, etc. would be discussed in the initial consultation. Every aspect of what we do is flexible, so feel free to tell me what you need! I am very easy to work with, and my goal is for complete satisfaction with ~ and excitement about ~ your agreement and service.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have an initial consultation by email or phone as early as possible, allowing the client to feel comfortable that my service is a good fit for them. Once you decide to proceed, I seek to confirm all the important details of date/time/location and any special requirements before preparing your DJ service agreement and accepting a $100 deposit. Then comes the real fun when we put our heads together to choose special songs, plan out the timeline, script the MC announcements, and even create the Must-Play and No-Not-Play song lists. Usually we are in contact several times during that last month before the big day as the last details get fine-tuned.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I believe it's important to be very firm on your event date and approximate location before submitting a Thumbtack request. Otherwise I invite potential clients to get in touch with me right away and begin the discussion! I am always happy to be of service simply to bounce ideas around and explore options.
