FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As an independent contractor having almost 2 decades of experience building and managing construction projects of all sizes, I bring experience without all the overhead. My prices are competitive and my services range from small projects to new home construction. My goal is to give you an honest opinion of the budget and scope of a project upfront so you as the homeowner can decide what is important for you to do. I will work with you to custom tailor a project that fits your budget, scope and timeline.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The typical process starts with a meeting, either in person or through other means such as Zoom, Facetime, or an old fashioned phone call. The initial meeting is to establish the scope of work and a working budget. At the end of that meeting we will decide if it makes sense to continue the relationship with a follow up appointment or not. There is never any pressure. One of the critical boxes we will check in the first meeting is whether an architect will need to be involved in the project or not. Typically we can answer that question based on whether or not we will need a permit or not. I have several independent architects I work work with or you can seek out your own. It's all about what is most convenient for you.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have almost 20 years experience in construction. I spent 8 years running the construction for a design build company in the Metro DC area. IN 2010 i received my masters degree in Construction Management from Georgetown University. In 2015 I was recognized as Top 40 under 40 for residential construction and remodeling in the country.
