It rains a lot in the DC region. Our back yard dirt patio would normally collect surface rain water and then percolate through the dirt floor in the mechanical cellar, below the English Basement. JJBY eliminated this water intrusion by creating a French drain system along the walls in the cellar, pouring concrete, and installing a beautiful brick patio with a channel drain in the back yard. Since this work was completed, we have not seen any water intrusion and the house remains dry even during heavy rain storms. We are so grateful and highly recommend JJBY for your masonry, concrete and drainage solutions.May 18, 2018
Land Leveling and Grading
We had a fantastic experience with JJ Basement and Yard Service. They were fair priced, started and ended when they said the would, and the quality was great. I would highly recommend them to others!Apr 8, 2020Verified

Len was expressly professional and offered a phenomenal solution complete with detailed plans. The accompanying quote was reasonable too. He clearly knows the space well as a former civil engineer. His partner, Jose and his crew were punctual, courteous and got the job done pretty much on time. Offered a 10 year warranty on their work which is solid. Am glad I connected with Len and Jose.May 1, 2017Verified

Highly recommended. Very affordable. Performed a drainage detouring project for our HOA. It was a lot of hard work and hand digging but JJBY managed to salvage our walkway so we didn't need to replace concrete, which also meant that the walkways all looked the same when they were done. They also replaced railroad ties at window wells. Very happy overall and would recommend Len, Jose, and their crew.Sep 29, 2016Verified

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Following an initial phone conversation to discuss general drainage or leak problems or hardscape design needs, JJBY (Len Blakley) will set an appointment time to visit the site for a more specific analysis of the issues or design needs (note that Drainage and Waterproofing consults are subject to a $100 initial consult fee, creditable against any contracted work). At the time of the site visit, the consultant will usually be able to make some specific recommendations and measurements will be made of the areas for consideration. The Consultant will then follow up by email with a plan and specific price proposal but often may provide more than one option for further discussion. Once a final design and plan is settled, the client will pay a deposit and work is scheduled.
