I signed a contract with Mike Miller of M and F of Richmond Inc on February 6, 2022, plus gave a $50,000 deposit as requested for him to build a duplex with a 1.5 car attached garage. It has taken 8 months for him to produce acceptable blueprints. The building permit was issued on 11/22/22. Mr Miller informed me that the building would be completed within 3 months of receiving permit. Today we are at 2.5 months since receiving the permit, and the footing has not even been dug. The footing dig was scheduled a first time for 1/12/23, but footing contractor stated he couldn't come until Miss Utility had a chance to mark the property. I was called on to call Miss Utility at the last minute. The footing contractor came out on 1/21/23 to dig with equipment and could not dig again because the survey stakes that I had paid to have stakes in April 2022 had been moved by the tree removal person that Mr. Miller hired. In addition, there was an existing HVAC compressor obstructing the dig area as well. Mr. Miller would not agree to be responsible for payment of restaking the property, though pictures were provided to him showing him that the day his tree person arrived, the building stakes were in the ground. We are now at the 1 year mark since I signed a contract with Mr. Miller and he has exhibited an unwillingness to be responsible for the additional expense caused by his tree person. Based on this I officially cancelled my contract in writing with Mr. Miller on January 22, 2023 and demanded a refund of my $50000 deposit by Friday January 27, 2023. Mr. Miller did not reach out or respond. I followed up with two phone calls on Friday January 27, 2023 to arrange a time to receive my refund. Mr . Miller would not answer my phone calls. So, ..........................................................needless to say, my experience with Mr. Miller and M and F of Richmond, Inc. has been a disappointment and a failure. I caution all with just handing him full deposits. I have now turned this matter over to my attorney for resolution. How can they improve: be trustworthy, honest and follow thru! 1/28/23 Update - I finally received this email from Mr. Miller: in response to your email from 1-22 & 1-27 we consider the contract legal & binding & still in force intentions are to continue to abide by the contract except work will cease until this issue is resolved thanks I immediately responded with these questions, but received no response: What is the issue that needs resolution? If this contract was still in force, what actions have you taken to move things forward???? Your behaviors imply that there is no contract…. What new actions have you taken to move things forward? ....... still no response from Mr. Miller...........................................

I contracted M&F of Richmond to put on an additional to my home in Chesterfield County. The quality of work and professionalism was outstanding. Everything was done in a workmanship manner and in a timely fashion. Once the project was completed, I had a walk through to make sure I was completely satisfied. The very few things that were on my list, were taken care of promptly. The entire process was smooth and I would recommend this company to anyone. Especially to the buyer looking for quality work and professionalism.
