The Lumen team was great! We hired them for a deck insrall with electrical work for a hot tub. We cannot recommend LumenHomes highly enough. They stepped in to save our project, a backyard accessory dwelling with two offices, after a previous contractor abandoned it midstream. Not only did they get it back on track, they dramatically improved the final result. The experience was so positive that we have continued to hire them for additional projects, and our neighbors were impressed enough to ask LumenHomes for help with odds and ends on their own homes. The value they provide is exceptional. Their pricing is fair, and they are always looking for smart, cost-effective ways to do things without compromising quality. A simple example is that they suggested an alternative decking vendor that saved us hundreds of dollars, purely because it was a better option for our needs. That mindset carried through everything they did. The team is communicative, thoughtful, and extremely detail oriented. They paid attention to things we would never have thought to specify. For instance, they made excellent recommendations on outlet placement that perfectly matched how we actually use the space, while also considering aesthetics we had not even considered. It felt intuitive and intentional, not cookie cutter. Because the quality of their work was so evident, we ended up expanding the scope well beyond our original plan. We asked them to fix all our trim, build a new 4x10 shed, and design and install custom built-ins for the space. We also had them install awnings over both our back door and the new unit. Every time we brought them a new request, they came back with ideas and suggestions that genuinely made the end result better. With the awnings, for example, they suggested a shorter version to preserve natural light in the unit and custom built it for us. While installing the awning over our back door, they noticed and fixed issues with our flashing. While working on the trim, they caught that the underside of our front door awning was sagging and addressed that as well. They even consulted a designer for lighting recommendations, which turned out beautifully. The shed they built blends seamlessly with the house, was custom built to our specifications, and gives us much-needed extra storage. All of these are just a few examples of how they consistently added value. What started as a nightmare project became something we actually enjoyed seeing through to completion, largely because LumenHomes approached the work as if it were their own home, with real ownership and care. It is rare to find contractors who think through risks, double check everything, and truly try to understand how a space will be used, rather than waiting to be told exactly what to do at every step. We received honest feedback on our ideas and collaborated productively, with no surprises along the way. That level of transparency and partnership is incredibly rare and incredibly valuable. We feel extremely lucky to have found LumenHomes, and that is before even mentioning that everyone on the team was genuinely enjoyable and fun to work with.
