FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My smallest designs such as zodiac signs and infinity symbols start at 5$. Most of my hand designs up to the wrist are 10$. Designs that get more intricate and larger go up in price. I don't like to charge huge amounts because I believe that henna is an art that should be shared with everyone. I like to keep my prices affordable so that everyone can experience henna!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to begin by asking whether this is the first time she/he is getting henna done. I try to find out if they have sensitive skin or weakened immune system. I give a little background about henna and the paste that I use. I also like to find out if the henna is for a special occasion or just for fun. I like to get to know the person so that I can incorporate elements of his/her life that will make the henna special. I also like to find out the amount of henna or style of henna they are looking for. For example, some clients prefer henna just up to the wrist while others prefer all the way to the elbow. Some clients prefer Gulf inspired designs while others are looking for more of a modern contemporary touch.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a young child, my mom used to decorate our hands for our holidays. Unfortunately, the most detailed she could get was a circle (god bless her heart!) I began to pick up the henna cone and start getting more creative and adding details. And that's where it all began!
