- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All editing and writing is quoted by job and almost always by word count. The larger the word count the lower the cost per word. Recently edited an application for a master's program and charged a flat $30 and provided a 400 word suggested letter - gratis.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The vast majority of our interaction with clients is done online through Thumbtack, and via phone calls and texts. Resume work normally starts with a face-to-face interview. The meeting starts of with Tom providing an indepth explanation of his background. After that, he works on creating the client's resume. After 20 minutes, even up to an hour, he will ask if the client wishes to contract. If yes, payment in full is required. Other work, always willing to audition. Example: edit a few pages to demonstrate our abilities. OR, write a couple of pages.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Suhair, as mentioned, has a BA in English. She has also taught English as Second Language and tutor students in Arabic. She has extensive experience in editing. Tom has a MA & BS in economics. He taught college level economics. Already mentioned his formal counseling training. He worked full time in that position for over two years. Also, his job search experience is extensive - over 30 jobs since 1974. Five between SEP 2008 and DEC 2016. He has a 30+ year military career in the active duty and reserves and retired as a field grade officer. He spent years as a commander and a platform instructor.
