What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on the acreage of your lot, location of your lot, site conditions, and number of property corners (rectangular lot with 4 corners vs irregular shaped lot with several corners.). That is why it is necessary to know the address of the property to be surveyed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a licensed Land Surveyor with 36+ years in the industry. I have worked all positions from a Rodman all the way up to VP of a Civil Engineering firm. I currently own my own business with just myself and my oldest son.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father was a Surveyor and got me started at the age of 12 working for his company. I worked on a field crew during the summers and in the office running prints and errands after school. Now I am 48 years old running my own company and working with my son.
