FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
**“I got started in locksmithing because I’ve always had a strong interest in mechanical systems and how things work. Early on, I helped a family friend who was a locksmith and found I really enjoyed the problem-solving aspect — whether it was picking a lock, rekeying, or figuring out a door that wouldn’t close right. From there, I decided to take it seriously. I enrolled in a locksmith training program, got certified, and completed an apprenticeship where I learned the ins and outs of residential, commercial, and automotive work. What really drew me in was the hands-on nature of the job and the satisfaction that comes with helping people — whether it’s getting them back into their car at 2 a.m. or upgrading the security on their home or business. It’s a skill that feels valuable every day.”**
