Introduction: Over 30 years experience in strength, flexibility and endurance training. Will work with you at your place or outdoors. Have all of the equipment to work with and skills to get you in shape in short period of time. Certified and well educated - BA in Physical Education, MA in International Commerce and Policies. Worked as a professional personal trainer at LA Fitness, Sport and Health and Life Time Athletics clubs. Building up strength and flexibility, as well as helping those who recover from traumas and illnesses is my major specialty. I am well trained and experienced in working with clients in most age categories including young kids and 34 + years old age group. Senior citizens are welcomed! My sub- specialty is proactive self - defense with no requirement to learn sophisticated advanced technique. I'll teach you how to do it with your current physical conditions, natural personal instinct and movements you are comfortable with. At your request I may teach you how to handle knife, nunchaku, or stick and how to protect yourself from cutting and striking weapons. Yet, I will give you enough skills and knowledge to have a chance against unarmed or armed aggressor. With over 30+ years in martial arts, military service and coaching, I am confident that my experience and practical skills will deliver result that may well exceed your expectations. I teach beginners and advanced student in one-on-one or small group sessions. Will work with you at your place, in a gym or, preferably, outdoor. I am 3rd degree black belt (currently in a process of getting 4th degree black belt} in Tae Kwon Do, WTF Certified, experienced in Systema and SAMBO, Jiu Jitsu and Judo (Brown Belt), military grade hand - to - hand combat and self - defense Pricing for my lessons may vary from $80 to $120 per session plus 40% off for every added to the session person. Details are available at the first meeting or over the phone. I see the process of teaching and training people as a work in the art of sculpture. The only difference is that I help to build not only the shape of the body, but also a character, spirit and will! That is the best part of my job!

Alex changed my life! I joined fitness clubs, tried working out myself (that didn't work so well) and really needed to get healthy! I hired Alex and it has been a wonderful experience. He is so smart about the human body and all of the exercises he has me do are perfect for me and my goals. I lost 12 lbs the first year and now am finishing my second year with him. This was my first Thumbtack experience so I did not know what to expect. I called Alex and booked an initial meeting for a self defense class. I was so impressed with his knowledge and ability to teach to me (someone with absolutely no experience in self defense) that I hired him immediately. I would recommend him in a minute, I can't explain how much fun each training is while at the same time also getting a tailored workout as well as learning useful and practical skills!!

Alex did some personal training and self defense sessions for myself and two teenage children. He brought equipment and was very knowledgeable about strength training, different abilities, and self defense techniques. It was great to be able to workout at home and with my older kids. We hope to resume classes with him later this summer.

    yes, I do. My pricing starts from $80 per hour and may go up to $120 depending on how remote client is, services, time and equipment involved.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I meet with client and come to terms about process of training considering health, physical conditions as well as time and availability. First session is more about testing client's capability to handle exercising.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    BS in Physical Education. Over 30 years experience in coaching and training. Two years of Exercise Physiology of Temple University as well.
