I have been playing chess since the 80's in school tournaments then in the United States Chess federation tournaments. I was a chess tutor for my sons high school with about 12 players and we competed in the Va state scholastic where 3 of my students won trophies. I am currently 1500 rated in the USCF and am a cerified coach with the USCF. I love teaching chess to kids because I know it helps them in their other school studies and I had about 4 students that were ADD, ADHD & asperger syndrome and 1 of them won trophies in the state tournament. I myself have ADHD and it has helpled me to focus while I was in school which help my grades go up and chess has helpled me to focus in my life and jobs. I was prior military and am a retired city police.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate is about $30 hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will first make sure the customer knows how each pieces moves, the en passant rule and how to castle and when you can't castle. If customer is not a novice then I will go after openings, middle game and the end game.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing in tournament chess for about 35 years. My current unites states chess federation rating is 1525. I am also a uscf certified coach.
