I needed a new bathroom put in my basement from scratch. I had 3 people come out and Scotties contracting was the one who I had the best feeling about. Stuart's price was extremely fair and he was very knowledgeable when you have questions before and while the project is going on. Lots of changes were made during the ongoing project and everything went smooth. Stuart is genuinely a nice guy and hard worker. He showed up at around the same time everyday and would get to work. You can trust him in your home when you're not there as well. Now let's get to what he did. Just take a look at the before and after pictures. There was just an open area in my basement and he turned it into a luxury bathroom that looks great! I also hired him to paint my basement right after cause i was happy with his work!!

I initially had a good impression of Stuart. He adjusted his schedule around another customer, and his estimate seemed reasonable. I thought he would be a good fit for my bathroom remodel. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations. Timeline and work pace The contract stated the job would be completed in under two weeks, but it took three full weeks. Most days he worked short hours, usually arriving around 9:30 in the morning and leaving around 3:30, which clearly contributed to the delays. Quality of work and follow‑through The overall quality of work was sloppy, with many unfinished or poorly finished details. When I pointed these out, he didn’t take the feedback well and seemed irritated rather than willing to correct the issues. He charged me the full amount even though the job was never fully completed, and despite promising to return, he never did. Costs and scope issues I was charged extra for “additional work” even though the scope had already been discussed. This felt like unnecessary nickel‑and‑diming rather than legitimate changes to the project. Organization and professionalism He was often forgetful and spent time looking for parts, at one point telling me items I ordered were missing, only to later find them. While working, he frequently talked to himself and cursed, which made me uncomfortable in my own home. Damage and responsibility He hit my car with his truck while backing out of my driveway, which led to nearly two months of stress trying to get it resolved. Although he provided his insurance information, he was unresponsive to them for weeks when they tried to confirm the incident. After the job He left leftover materials in my garage and never picked them up despite multiple texts. Part of this remodel involved insurance, and we asked him to help explain his estimate to the insurance company. Once he had been paid, he ignored us completely. Overall, I really wanted to like him, but the lack of follow‑through, professionalism, and attention to detail made this an expensive and frustrating experience. Based on what I experienced, I would not recommend hiring him.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It is difficult to have a standard pricing system as no 2 jobs are the same, that is why it is better to see whats involved before i can give a price. I do not price jobs below there value nor do i price jobs at a ridiculous amount , i think that when i give a price i am very fair to the work involved.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Firstly i try to establish a relationship with the client to see if we are a good fit for each other.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have attended VA licensing course to be classified as a B class contractor.
