Introduction: I create customized dance lessons for students of all levels so they can walk away feeling comfortable and confident on the dance floor. I also make house calls for students who do not have a studio close to them or are nervous about dancing in front of others. My rates include travel, studio rental, dance instruction, and music editing. I love the flexibility of having an open schedule. A lot of dance studios don't open until late in the afternoon, but I can offer morning and early afternoon lessons at my students' homes, offices, and fitness centers any time.

Wedding Dance Lessons

Kat was so much fun to work with for our wedding’s first dance! We were nervous, at first, as neither of us had much dancing experience. She did an excellent job building confidence as we progressed. She provided foundational movements for us to practice at first then worked towards a choreographed dance for our big day! The pace of learning was very comfortable and she did an excellent job of ensuring that we weren’t getting too far ahead of ourselves. This helped to have a comfortable and confident dance on the day of!

Private Dance Lessons

My fiance and I have been working with Kat (All About Dancing) for a couple months now! we were so excited to begin learning how to dance for our wedding but then coronavirus hit! Thankfully we found Kat and she was understanding, creative and patient with us! she has been teaching us choreography and how to properly waltz over FaceTime! Our family cannot believe how good we already look together and we have only just begun! I mean ... we are already doing lifts and I’m dancing in heels!!! Kat is going to help us refine our dance as we lead up to our wedding and we know we are so lucky to have connected with her. I’ll be updating with a before and after video so you can see the magic she can do with anyone who hasn’t danced before. Oh... look up her competition videos! They will inspire you even more to take up dancing and if you’re already a dancer she’ll take you to the next level! I can’t believe how much fun we are having (we are such bad dancers I honestly thought this might be the thing that caused a divorce before the wedding lol!) but this has been so fun and allowed us to learn a lot about each other through dance. I think she has made me fall in love with dancing!

Wedding Dance Lessons

Kat was an awesome dance instructor and choreographer for our first dance as husband and wife. When i first made contact with her, whe was quick to respond to my many questions. We reached out to her with less than a month until our wedding, and she was able to schedule us very quickly, within a few days of confirming we would work with her. I appreciated her responsiveness, rates, and availability, so I chose her over four others I had been in touch with on Thumbtack. We met with her three times leading up to the wedding for our two minute dance. During the first two lessons, she showed us the choreography, and in the final lesson, we perfected our moves. She made a custom two minute mp3 of our song for us, and also took video of us dancing the choreography, so we would have that to practice on our own. She was also flexible and understanding when we had to reschedule one of our sessions. We both felt really confident when we danced on our wedding day, and I think our guests really liked it. My husbamd, who previously had no dance experience, got a lot of compliments from his guy friends, so he was very happy. You won't regret working with Kat. Thanks again!

Wedding Dance Lessons

My husband and I are so glad we hired Kat to help us choreograph a surprise first dance routine for our wedding. Neither of us have any dance experience to speak of, and she was very patient with us while we stumbled through what I'm sure are very basic steps. She was able to gauge our abilities and our learning strengths very well, and above all, she was really honest about what we were doing well and what we needed to fix. Our guests were SO surprised to see what we had created with Kat - and we have so much fun with the process, from our first lesson to the final "performance." Would highly recommend Kat to anyone, even those with limited to no experience!

Wedding Dance Lessons

Kat has shown she is adaptive and able to adjust to our requests and desires from day 1. We consistently find ourselves laughing at our trials and tribulations under her tutelage. She has managed in 2 lessons to take 2 amateurs from nothing to having a whole wedding dance routine. We can't wait to continue working with her!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge a flat, discounted rate for online private lessons via FaceTime or Zoom, and I offer discounts for in-person private lesson package purchases of 5 or more lessons.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

New dancers can expect to learn the basics of leading or following through beginner level steps. The goal is to get people comfortable dancing with a partner, as well as build their confidence to dance in public and with others (for social dancers). Of course timing, musicality, and technique are covered, but the most important thing is to get people moving. For wedding couples, usually the focus is on their first dance, however, there are many other parts of wedding dances that we can cover.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been teaching since 2009 and dancing even longer. My college degree is in management but my dance training has been from top-level coaches since day 1. Both teacher and dance training give me the ability to communicate effectively with students. My dance background includes ballroom, salsa, jazz, ballet, modern, Argentine tango, and Afro-Cuban styles.
