JC is better than advertised! Besides excellent communication in making an appointment, he nominated well his actual arrival time and asked permission to arrive early. Tuning my baby grand took 2 hours (as he had anticipated) and restored it to its beautiful tone. (It had been five or more years since it was last tuned.) His work was precise, professional and focused. Afterwards he coached me on when and how to use the damp chaser. Two days after the tuning he sent a two page report detailing and graphing his work in my piano. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

I was greatly impressed with his work quality, professionalism, and punctuality. He listened to me very carefully about my piano and explained what he was going to do before the job, which made me very comfortable. He completed the job as planned and the result was just excellent. After the job, he briefly played the piano for me. It was really beauiful sound. I couldn't ask for more. I'll definitely ask him to tune my piano in the future and recommend to everybody who is looking for a good piano tuner.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer the most competitive rate for piano tuning in the Washington DC metro area: the minimum fee ranges $180-$240 (estimate) for a top quality tuning service fully customized to your own piano. Pianos that have not been tuned in a long time may need a pitch adjustment for a surcharge of $100-$150 depending on the condition of the piano. I will be able to determine the need for and scope of a pitch adjustment once I hear the piano.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I seek from my new customers information about the piano, how often is played, and the last regular tuning performed. I also share details of the tuning session, including average time needed to complete the job, any potential additional adjustments, and ask for any other additional information that will help achieving the best outcome from a customized tuning session. I also offer various options about my availability to perform the tuning so the customer can choose the most convenient day and time.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have provided my tuning and piano maintenance/repair services to individual owners, schools, music academies, and churches.
