After graduating with a J.D. from George Washington Law School, Lisa Brown clerked for one year at the D.C. Court of Appeals with the Honorable Eric Washington, who served as Chief Judge of the D.C. Court of Appeals. Next, she received an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown Law School. After working for several years with the Paul Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, LLP and then Dickstein Shapiro Law, LLP Firms, Lisa Brown started her own private practice. Attorney Lisa Brown is licensed to practice law both in the Commonwealth of Virginia and Washington, D.C. Additionally, she is admitted to practice on the United States Bankruptcy Court, as well as in the federal court system, namely, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Lisa Brown has been certified as a Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Over the last few years, Attorney Brown has successively handled a variety of types cases, including, DUI, speeding, criminal (both misdemeanor and felony), divorce, child custody, workplace discrimination, personal injury, bankruptcy and others.
