Steve's team did a great job at following through to deliver a high quality project with a keen attention to detail. They did well to react to unexpected issues and ensure that they were resolved.

Stephen has worked on my house in a couple of projects and the results have been excellent. What I like best about working with him is that one can always take it for granted that the work will be top notch, whatever the job involved. It's also great that he can do absolutely anything required in terms of construction in a home. Very highly recommended.

Fairway Construction is by far the most professional, knowledgeable, and skilled contractor I’ve ever hired. Steve kept me informed throughout the many jobs I hired him to do (repair house trim, soffit replacement, replace massive wood rot under a bump-out window, and a complete re-build of my porch column and railing, and replace my front yard lamp post). He custom-built the new column to my own design request (identical to the example I sent him and to the scale my porch needed). Beautiful work. He advised on what materials work best for the long-haul and was very fair and reasonable with his pricing. He is also very dependable and arrives when he says he will. I am already recommending him to friends.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All hands on since I started in construction when I was 16 years of age from entire home building and remodeling . I started working with my sister building a company called Hayes Construction, for over 16years building up to be an Award wining contractor through the NARI ,( National Association Remolding Industry) As well as NVBIA ( Northern Virginia Building Industry Association) Winning numerous awards in both. I was a working as a field project manager as well as marketing the company using one of the plat forms showing off our work at the Expo center for over 20 + years .

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Starting in Construction when I was 16 Started out as a labor and worked up to framing and cornice work ( Ext trim ) Complete out side of new homes in the 80s Suffered recession 3 times . Started a entire home remodeling business with sister called Hayes Construction Corp. Built the business up to winning many best remodeling projects range from 200k- 800k Through NARI , NVBIA organizations. In 2006 decided to move forward on my own started Fairway Construction to for my wife and I ended up having to take care of my mother- in law whom today is 91. So decided to take on smaller projects ranging from cabinet building to all phases of home improvements of entire homes from exterior repairs to kitchens and bathrooms upgrades . After last long recession. Decided to get certified as a home inspector Did a 40hr class through ITA in Manassas then went to Richmond Virginia and to take theNational Exam for which wasn’t required at the time but is now. Decided after a few inspection for some friends and found this did not fit my strong work ethics. So now still working on many projects from custom mill works to opening up spaces to all home remodeling and repairs .
