FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rates are $100 for a 50-minute session. The rates are the same for an individual or a couples or family session. Depending on your particular health plan, you may be able to use it for our sessions. I am a provider with most plans. This is something we could talk about. And if you have insurance coverage, your financial responsibility will depend on the benefits of your plan.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, reach out in any way that works for you - either by sending a message through this website, calling, or email. Once you have had a chance to have an exchange of communication (even briefly), you can decide if feels like it will be a good fit and whether you want to schedule a first time to meet. Consider the first meeting an introduction to get a sense of how we can work together. Based on how it feels and whether you feel that our sessions can help with your needs, you can decide if you wish to continue for an additional session(s).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have always had an interest in psychology and since 1999 have worked with people in different counseling contexts – younger people, older people, individuals, couples, and families. I participated in the Integral Counseling Psychology program at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco; I graduated with a Master's degree in the fall of 2003, and I earned my Marriage and Family Therapist license in January, 2007. I continue to participate in ongoing periodic trainings and keep my ear to the ground to learn whatever I can about working with people. There is a lot of great sharing out there and I bring whatever I feel might be helpful into the counseling room to share with you.
