- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
pricing can vary somewhat depending on layout of rooms, width & type of flooring, demolition of existing flooring, etc. brand new construction, bare plywood floor with no baseboard installed, nail down solid wood starts at $2.50 per square foot; for carpet removal, subfloor cleanup, baseboard remove/replace, undercut doors, etc. usually add about $.50 to $1.00 per square foot though this may vary depending on complexity
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
usually, we set up an in-home estimate; this allows us to evaluate the space together, and I can look at the details such as transitions to other types of flooring, baseboards, stairs, type of subfloor, etc. I can usually give a quote on the spot as well as recommend what type of flooring would work best for you. at the conclusion of my visit, we can schedule a date for installation or you can contact me after making a flooring selection.
