Gafco Construction was founded in 1980 by a hardworking and talented contractor. He believed in superior workmanship, quality service, and professional results. 35 years later Gafco is still roofing the Pacific Northwest. His philosophy has been passed down to his son who now runs Gafco. Eric has expanded the family business to include his own niche of exterior remodeling and custom decks. Erik and his team at Gafco are committed to ensuring homeowners that they are getting the most reliable service in the industry. Erik is a native to the Pacific Northwest and committed to the community he grew up in. When not working Erik, an avid fisherman and nature lover, can be found guiding friends and clients through the backcountry he loves. Gafco did a wonderful job painting our house! We had 4 painters and a supervisor arrive at 9AM. They did all the prep work and gave our 1800 sq foot home 2 coats of paint in addition to priming the trim. They did the whole house in one day. It looks really great!

Our house was overdue for a paint job. I was nervous about the process because this was the first time we'd ever had a home painted. I found this website and advertised what I needed. I received a handful of interested parties willing to come out and look at my home to give me an estimate. Lucinda, from Gafco, came out to look at our home. We had an old run-down deck that had needed to be removed and a few pieces of siding that needed replacing due to a leak above the window. I asked her to give me two separate estimates, one for painting and one for the deck removal/siding repair. She retreated to her car and returned immediately with the best prices I could have ever hoped for. Didn't take long to decide to hire Gafco to do the work we needed. I went to the office on Monday to sign the contract and put down my 50%. Spent a lot of time calling Lucinda, the office manager, because I had so many questions. She was so friendly and there with an answer every time I needed her. They started on Tuesday with the pressure washing. We had a lot of peeling paint, so it took a couple of days to get all of the scraping and priming done. With the deck, we were worried that the leak might have caused damage inside the wall, which would relate to more work and the price going up. We talked with Erik, the owner, about this and he assured us that when he got in and could see what was happening, he would stop and let us know what we were up against before we went any further. This was very relieving. The deck turned out to not be a big deal. It was removed, the siding replaced, flashing was added above the windows where it had not been when built, which caused the leak. The whole crew arrived early Friday morning to paint our house. What a great group of guys! They were all very friendly and respectful. Erik had us walk around with him at least 5 times to make sure they didn't miss anything, and to point out anything we thought needed to be touched up. When they were all done, we were left with a beautifully painted home and a clean yard. I will definitely be recommending this company to everyone I know who is looking for a job well done at an excellent and affordable price. They are top-notch! Mechelle B.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We are priced extremely fair; not the highest or lowest, just in the middle. We are a small local business with low overhead, and that allows us to provide very affordable pricing for all exterior construction. Our craftsmanship is extraordinary, with an eye for detail. We aim to be the best in the industry.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to schedule a face to face meeting to get to know who we are working for and what we can do to exceed their expectations. We like to educate homeowners, not pressure them. We believe that the more informed our customers are about their options, the more confident they will be in their product choice. We like to build a good connection with our customers and acquire a thorough understanding of their project and their needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Eric, the company owner, grew up with a father that was in the industry. He passed on his comprehensive knowledge of the remodeling and home improvement industry to his son. Eric and his crew are required to be certified with the brands we recommend to our customers. We stay up to date with product and install know-how. Our work is performed by our own employees, so you never have to worry about us subcontracting our projects. We are factory trained and certified with: GAF, CertainTeed, and IKO for roofing products; Azek, TimberTech, and Trex for decking; and James Hardie for siding. These products enable us to offer you upgraded system warranties that protect you and your family for decades to come. We only install top grade construction products with top level warranties that will perform far beyond your expectations.
