I'm teaching a variety of martial arts and self-defense disciplines to protect one's self and others at all times.
Shawn is a great trainer and coach! Since training with Shawn I have lost 50 pounds and have gained self confidence and a love for working out. He has been very supportive throughout my weight loss journey and continues to help me reach my goals.
I started working with Danny almost two months ago. My initial goal was for him to help me strengthen my lower body because I felt that I was doing a good job of improving my upper body on my own. But after working with Danny for only a month and noticing dramatic improvement in my lower body, I asked him to work with me an additional day each week to train me on my upper body, as well. Danny is kind, respectful, inspiring, encouraging and very knowledgeable on physical fitness. I highly recommend Danny as your personal trainer, as well. You won't be disappointed.

I started Krav a few weeks ago intending just to get my feet wet in self defense, but I'm getting way more than that! It feels great to get in a couple more hard workouts during the week, and I'm getting to know some fantastic people! Kirkland Krav Maga has a supportive atmosphere and it's a great outlet in the midst of a crazy work schedule. Thanks Kirkland Krav! So excited to have both Kirkland and Woodinville locations for even more options!
Hello! My name is Sasha Zudova. I just turned 38 years old this past April. I am originally from Russia. Prior to this, I was severely struggling with trying to change my own body by training myself and having the so called skinny fat look, so I put my pride and ego aside and decided to hire help. I looked around for a while through, craigslist, Angies list, yellow pages before I made my final decision. My top concern was affordability, but I also wanted high value. The cost initially attracted me to inquire more information about Unconquerable Strength, but little did I realize the value that would accompany my investment later down the line. I also wanted my health concerns acknowledged and taken into account; I have struggled with depression and lower back pain. So I scheduled a 30 Minute consultation; which was free. I met with Alex who is the Program Advisor. He was very professional and informative within the given time frame. He debunked a lot of lies and misinformation that I feel the public is not aware of. He showed me astonishing before and after pictures of past clients who were successful; which instilled hope within me. He made his mission statement very clear; We design personalized exercise programs based on science! That is the reason I ultimately chose Unconquerable Strength. So we came up with a 3 month program and Alex scheduled me with my initial training session. The following week I met my Trainer; his name was Zohan. Upon initial meeting with Zohan, he was immediately welcoming, sociable, and genuine. He listened to all my concerns and what I truly wanted to get out of this. We talked about my goals, more lies and misinformation, nutrition, proper supplementation, and he even accompanied me to the grocery store to educate me about how to eat properly. He was extremely knowledgeable. He was also very supportive and motivating during our training sessions together. As time progressed it became more apparent to me that Zohans training style indeed implicates scientific methods. It has been 7 months now and I have put on about 10 pounds of muscle, reduced my body fat percentage from 20% to 10%, increased my range of motion, my lower back pain is gone, my depression has subsided, and I feel like a new man! I am well informed and my self-esteem and confidence has skyrocketed. Speaking from all aspects of my health, I feel reborn. I am telling you, stop going to these big name gyms that dont deliver. They are expensive and dont even come close to the value you will receive from Unconquerable Strength. This was one of the best decisions of my life! I implore you, give them a call and see how they can help you.
I teach mixed martial arts and street self-defense, including weapons and tactics. I am a fifth-degree black belt.
I had known James for about a year before I started training with him. He was a customer at a coffee shop I worked at, and he was just "the weird trainer dude who put MCT oil in his coffee". :) Then when I started training with him, I realized how beneficial his knowledge base could be for more areas of my life than just lifting or physical movement. He has a vast knowledge of how the human body works, which influences his training technique, how he coaches you through tougher movements, how he helps you heal, and how he gives advice on other areas of life (nutrition, habits, self discipline, life in general). Some of James' coaching may feel silly and weird and uncomfortable at first, but once you start following his plan and guidance, you see yourself and your capabilities change. I came into James' classes barely being able to hold myself up in a plank, and using very light weights just for basic movements. One of the last classes I did with him I was deadlifting 175 pounds and doing hand stands! After 6 months of training! (I honestly never believed I could do either of those things!) I think Minneapolis definitely lost out on James moving away, but I'm glad more people get to train with him!
Mr. Scott is extremely knowledgeable and understood and delivered on our objective of getting the basic self defense instructions. We're looking forward to our next lesson!
The Style is very street oriented and not difficult to apply and learn

I have been training with Mr. Rainey for almost 2.5 years, beginning at the end of March 2013. I believe this will lend some credibility to this review. Mr. Rainey knows his art, and has direct lineage back to the founder of the American Kenpo system, SGM Ed Parker. Mr. Rainey is very much attuned to how to teach, encourage, and develop the skills of beginning students, just as he is for the advanced. This is regardless of whether the student comes to American Kenpo from another system (as in my case) or is completely new to the martial arts. It is worth clarifying that Mr. Rainey teaches is a "martial art" not a "sport". There is a big difference between the two and there are not so many schools that do this anymore. If one's interest is to learn effective self defense, this is the place. With that being said, American Kenpo is also a very complete/comprehensive martial art system that transcends just personal self defense. It is also about self discipline, personal growth, the development of greater self confidence, and physical health. After devoting over 40 years to the martial arts myself, most notably training and teaching Taekwon-do (before choosing to start all over again with Mr. Rainey and the American Kenpo system), I can certainly attest to Mr. Rainey teaching abilities and the overall effectiveness of the American Kenpo system of martial arts. My only regret has been that I did not come to know the Kenpo system, and Mr. Rainey, 42 years ago when my own martial arts journey began.
I offer mixed martial arts training to kids of all ages and adults. We also offer strength and conditioning, CrossFit workouts, and reality-based self-defense training.
Group Class Rate: $65/month (2 classes/week) Close Range Tactics is a system of private defense based on Wing Chun Kung Fu (ving tsun, wing tsun, etc). CRT offers an effective, aggressive, and straightforward approach to self-defense. Through an effective system of tactics, based on principle and sensitivity, students develop incredible speed and adaptability in the body. CRT teaches systematic solutions and proper reactions to the practitioner (despite size or strength) in the event of sudden violence. You will develop unshakable confidence, increased self-esteem, better overall health, and the ability to deal with day-to-day stress and tasks with ease from training CRT. Our curriculum and teaching methods are continuously modified to help our students be the best they can be. Our curriculum is taught to answer the most common of self-defense encounters you may come across; be it untrained street fighting, predatorial attack, multiple attackers, abduction, or sudden violence. We teach our students to use their skills in real world situations, not just the classroom. This is real self-defense, not a movie. CRT teaches defense against single and multiple attackers, trained and untrained opponents, bladed and impact weapons, firearms, and more. All in the context of adrenalized, disadvantaged, real-time combat.
Aikido is unlike most martial practices, in that what we do is about partnership, communication and developing positive interactions. Most martial arts focus on teaching people how to hit (or hurt) others, or they are practiced as a competitive sport, where one person must "lose" so that the other can "win". In Aikido your partner helps you to grow and you help your partner. People learn about cooperation and teamwork and everyone improves, without competition.
