About
Hello, my name is Blake Marble, and I have been teaching piano performance and music theory for 10 years. I currently study under former concert pianist Mark Westcott. In addition, I have taken lessons and performed in masterclasses for pianists Paul Roberts, Harold Gray, Charles Owen, Craig Shepard, Santiago Rodrigez, Christopher Guzman, Timothy Shafer, and Robin McCabe. I have been lucky enough to have performed at venues ranging from the University of Washington in Seattle to a small villa in the South of France. In my teaching and performing, I emphasize Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary Eras music. I believe that developing a strong background and understanding of the composers from these eras will best help prepare students to perform and learn music from any genre. I also compose piano transcriptions of popular music (which you can see on my Instagram) and am open to helping students learn and perform popular music.

Amazing teacher! Works with your level, and makes it fun by helping you learn what you want to learn, all the while preparing you to be able to play other things as they may come up. Absolutely recommend to anyone with a desire to learn piano!

Blake is AMAZING! I could not write a more positive review on someone teaching my kids. He is always on time, professional but still warm and my kids love him. Because of his teaching they have come to actually enjoy piano lessons and have grown exponentially since he started teaching them. I have 3 kids and they are all different temperaments (ages 15, 12 and 12) but he has somehow connected with all of them individually. If you are looking for a dependable and low drama teacher your kids will like, hire Blake. I guarantee you won’t regret it.

From my experience, Blake Marble is among some of the best piano teachers in this generation, especially for his age. He takes special care to impress a large range of pianistic details onto his students, fundamental or advanced, all while remaining relaxed and tolerant to his students. He imposes not a restrictive structure to his students, but one which, with the help of the student, is a nurturing one which ultimately not only excites the student to practice, but also molds with and improves the student's technique substantially. Finally, Blake Marble is one of the few piano teachers I have found, which honestly and deeply cares about not only piano technique, but also pianistic artistry, and pushes the student in all accounts to developing a true artistry for the piano.
