I love my field, teaching and creating helping others to learn is something that I gain much joy and satisfaction from. I always strive to give the best quality work I can do. On the other hand I also customize the learning experience/process around my students and what they prefer and enjoy. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
That is a good question...I do not hold any former college training. But I am constantly doing personal study on current subjects and making sure what I teach is up to date. For instance in math and science. And I am looking into become professionally certified as a tutor.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My upbringing as one of Jehovah's Witnesses helped me to appreciate the value of teaching and instruction. It was only natural to combine subjects that I love with my instruction and that's how I got started doing it. I started during and after high school was finished/
What types of customers have you worked with?
Right now I mostly teach school subjects. I am working with a student right now teaching him Geometry and Chemistry. And right now I am starting a potential Spanish student. I meet with a student, preferably in a public location and we discuss the lesson, I address any questions there might be. And I provide a hands on experience and a practice session of the material. I don't always follow that order, but there is opportunity to have variety.
