FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $80 per hour or $45 per 1/2 hr.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In a first lesson I like to find out what the student's goals are and what they might like to change about their voice if they could change something. I like to know a bit about their past experiences if they have taken lessons before, or have had Performance experience before. I then want to hear them sing a bit, and will have them sing a short basic scale just to hear their natural voice. That gives me the information I need to know what exercises they will need to guide them in the direction they will need to get the results they want. If they know a song, I will ask to hear that too. I will do my best to put the student at ease. I love people and have a pretty good ability to read them and their level of nervousness. Lessons are about them - not about me. I assess what they need.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance and I am also a certified Associate Teacher in Mix Technique by the International Teacher of Mix and participate in their ongoing teacher trainings and education. I feel that it is of utmost importance to study constantly and stay up to date on the latest methodologies and pedagogical ideas in the world of vocal studies and voice science.
