FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes and no. My fees are affordable and negotiable, starting at about $150 for a very basic ceremony. Custom ceremony elements can add to the cost, and travel fees may apply.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Being a wedding officiant, I recognize that the wedding ceremony is all about the couple, not about me. So I constantly keep their needs and preferences at the forefront. After initial contact (usually by email or phone), I try to set up a meeting--a free consultation--with the prospective bride and groom, along with any family members who wish to be present. After that, if it seems like we're a good fit (and we almost always are!), I keep in contact with the couple, shaping their ceremony and plans into exactly what they want. Each ceremony is unique, as is each couple, and it's always fascinating to see what evolves. Such a pleasure!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I majored in Religious Studies (comparative religions) at UC Santa Barbara, attended Yale Divinity School, and, although I'm not affiliated with any particular church, have continued to study spirituality in all its various manifestations throughout my life.
