FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My session fee is $250 plus tax and it's due at the time of booking or the day of your session. All my sessions come with an online gallery that has a complimentary watermarked web download of all the session images. Smaller prints (8x10 or smaller), cards, and small framed prints can be purchased right through the online gallery. Larger wall art, gallery walls, or custom-designed albums are created and ordered directly through me. The average family invests between $500 -$1,800 on Family Portraits depending on the amount of artwork. I do offer Portrait Collections both for printed artwork and for high-resolution digital image files. I offer custom albums, gallery-wrapped canvas, metal printed portraits, and a variety of framing and mounting for archival prints and of course loose gift prints. Please message me for a more accurate quote.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Firstly, I like to do a pre-session consultation so we can meet to discuss and design a photo session. This can be in person or over zoom. I like to break the ice and introduce myself to the whole family. Having this initial meeting is wonderful for kids. I want them to be comfortable and open during their photo sessions and meeting them without my camera is a key part of good images. Secondly, we get to have fun and do the actual photo shoot. I love to play games and ask questions. I use a lot of movement to keep the session flowing. We run on what I call "Kid time" and when they are done the session is done. *Kid time also applies to adult kids. Lastly, we get together for your photo reveal. At the reveal, you get to choose the images you love and with my help, we design the album, the digital collection, or the wall art you want and then I make your order. Once your order comes in I will deliver it to your home. If you ordered hanging artwork I will install the portrait or the gallery on your wall.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a photographer since Photoshop 5, which means I've been doing this for some time. I worked as a CD ROM designer and after my kids were born my photography was mainly capturing them. I also did a lot of nighttime photography with the stars, but once my oldest hit the 4th grade, I decided to open my own photography business. I am a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography, licensed and insured.
