FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
At Pacific Pro Group, we believe transparent pricing is the foundation of a smooth and enjoyable project. We operate on a design-first approach: before construction ever begins, we thoroughly plan out every labor detail and exact material choice. This means you know the exact scope and cost upfront, with zero budget surprises down the line. How We Handle Your Budget & Costs: 3-Tiered Material Selection (Good, Better, Best): Material finishes are one of the biggest drivers of project costs. To help you hit your exact target budget, we offer three distinct finish tiers: Good (Standard & Cost-Effective): Clean, durable, off-the-shelf materials from trusted local vendors. Features stock cabinetry, pre-fabricated vanities, standard wall-mounted mirrors, cohesive single-tone paint, classic local tile/hardware, simple overhead lighting, and standard single-valve plumbing (e.g., traditional single showerhead setup). Better (Upgraded Finishes & Enhanced Functionality): Elevated finishes with smart budget control. Features stock or semi-custom cabinetry paired with quartz countertops, layered lighting (overhead lighting plus wall sconces, pendant lighting and/or under-cabinet LED accents), upgraded options for tile/hardware, and multi-function plumbing (e.g., dual showerheads or handheld sprayers). Best (Bespoke Luxury & Fully Custom): Premium, top-tier craftsmanship tailored specifically to your lifestyle. Features 100% custom cabinetry, fine custom millwork, high-end natural stone slabs, complex custom tile layouts, custom frameless glass enclosures, integrated recessed medicine cabinets, and high-end specialty lighting and plumbing. Permitting & Specialist Management: Permit fees depend on your specific project scope. We manage the entire process for you—from initial blueprint design and submitting permit packages to managing all ongoing communication with local building departments. Depending on your property's site conditions and local regulations, we seamlessly coordinate and bring in any necessary third-party specialists, including: Geotechnical Engineers (for steep slopes or hillside stability) Land Surveyors (for property lines and setbacks) Critical Area Specialists (for streams, wetlands, or protected shorelines) Structural Engineers (for load-bearing modifications or custom framing) Civil & Drainage Engineers (for site grading and stormwater solutions) Arborists (for regulated tree protection zones) We work closely with you from initial concept to final walkthrough to ensure your vision comes to life on budget, on schedule, and built to last.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At Pacific Pro Group, we’ve perfected a clear, streamlined process to ensure your project is executed seamlessly from initial idea to final walkthrough. Phase 1: On-Site Consultation We start with an in-person walkthrough at your property. We take the time to listen to your vision, inspect the site, evaluate any unique spatial or structural needs, and discuss your budget and timeline goals. Phase 2: Estimate & Detailed Review Following our meeting, we craft a proposal for your project. Once you've reviewed it, we schedule a follow-up call to answer your questions, refine scope details, and make any necessary adjustments together. Phase 3: Design, Permitting & Client Portal Onboarding Once the proposal is approved, we hit the ground running with blueprints, material selection, and city permitting. At this stage, you receive private access to your personalized Buildertrend Client Portal. Buildertrend gives you 24/7 transparency into your project, allowing you to: * View live schedule updates and daily site progress logs. * See photo updates from the job site. * Track and pay invoices securely online. * Message our entire team directly in one organized place. Phase 4: Construction & Quality Handover During construction, we maintain clean job sites, manage all the crews, meet with City inspectors and stay in consistent communication with you. Upon completion, we conduct a final walkthrough with you to ensure every detail meets our standards and your total satisfaction.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Renovating or expanding your home is a major investment, and choosing the right contractor makes all the difference. If you are looking to hire a general contractor in our area, here is our top advice: Prioritize Design & Pre-Planning Over "Fast" Bids: A quick, rough estimate often leads to surprise change orders mid-project. Look for a design-first builder who takes the time to detail every labor cost and exact material choice before demo begins so you have total budget clarity. Ensure They Handle the Entire Permitting Process: Between local municipal codes, steep slopes, shorelines, and critical environmental zones in the PNW, permitting can be complex. Hire a team that manages the entire process for you—from blueprints and city contact to coordinating required experts like geotechnical or structural engineers. Ask How They Manage Communication & Schedules: Miscommunication is the #1 complaint in construction. Ask prospective GCs what systems they use to keep you informed. Look for Budget Flexibility & Material Options: Your contractor should be a partner in hitting your financial targets. Make sure they offer flexible options—like tiered material selections so you can customize your finishes without compromising on structural quality.
