Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Our work stands out from others in the industry because at Weather Shield Exteriors we really do care. Everything you own is living under your roof, so we strive to make sure you have the longest lasting, worry and maintenance free roof, for the best price possible. Our owner put his first roof on in 1947 (yes this is correct not a typo). Between Jim and the other principals of the company there is almost 200 years of combined experience. That experience, coupled with our products and pricing, makes the Weather Shield Exteriors experience stand out (actually jump out) from the pack. At Weather Shield Exteriors, we all LOVE our jobs. This company is low-overhead to provide the best pricing to our customers; however, low-overhead does not mean low service. We love our jobs and we do them well, in fact the best thing is that each of us are invested in this company and we all help each other to be better. We have a great atmosphere and that carries over to how we work and the service we give.

This company is the greatest! Now I've got the right metal slate roof that is permanent and worry free and they just installed 29 windows in my two story house. I have noticed a marked change in my heating bill that was around $325 before all this was done and now its around $175. I cant say enough about this company and would definitely recommend to all friends and family. Dick VonSnoop Seattle, WA

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Our most common job type is roofing - and of the roofing is metal roofing, but that does not mean that is all we do; not by a longshot. We do all types of roofing - aluminum, steel, standing seam, stone coated, PVC, rubberized shingle, and archtectural composition. In addition, we install triple pane windows (we have an exclusive on an incredible product). We do exterior siding of all types, as well as decks and patio covers. Remodeling or additions also fit in our category of being a general contractor; however, we limit ourselves on this final type of project to only a few a year as we never want to stretch our resources too far to be able to provide excellent services and prices.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Do your homework. Be an informed consumer and make sure a contractor is registered, actively licensed, with a bond and insurance, and registered to work in Washington. Check their references - not only by calling, but a drive-by is always good. Make sure they do not have any lawsuits against their contractors bond and if they have been cited for violations of the various construction laws governed by the department of Labor & Industries. I also think it is good to go to the office of the company, or at least make sure they have one. If they offer financing or have the ability to take credit cards for large sums that also indicates stability as the company will have had to go through rigorous credit checks to provide these services.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I wish customers knew that although there are a few bad apples out there not all contractors are not bad apples. The economy has people really price conscious and we understand that completely; however, I wish that they would weigh out cost and quality and find a happy medium. Getting things done right the first time, even if it costs a little more is well worth the investment. Weather Shield Exteriors is in a unique position where we can give cost effective service - getting it done right the first time and I wish customers would give us a call.
