FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Members of the Washington State Bar are required to complete 45 approved credit hours every 3 years- 6 credits must be approved for professional ethics credits. I enjoy attending continuing legal education seminars in criminal law so that I can stay current on the changes in the law. Additionally, engaging with other lawyers at these seminars is very useful- I learn A LOT from other lawyers as we discuss what is occurring in other jurisdictions and concerns they may have with particular judges.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
1) Definitely talk to more than one lawyer when you need to hire an attorney! Do not be afraid to ask them how much their service will cost you- legal services are an important investment- you have a right to be well informed. 2) Go to the Washington State Bar Association website and check out any prospective attorney! Click on the link 'For the Public' and then click on the tab where you can search n attorney's name. You will learn how long the attorney has been practicing, the attorney's area of practice and his or her disciplinary history with the State Bar Association. This information is absolutely free and will help warn you about any potential problems you could encounter.
