I take pride in my work. I have to earn a living somehow. I'm doing this because I like the work and I like helping people and it shows in the end result. Mechanical things come very easily to me. I really like being able to help people solve their mechanical problems. Sometimes people ask me for help with stuff that seems obvious. I think they're kidding me. I look at them and they're serious so I help them or show them how something works and they get so excited. I really get a kick out of that and it makes me feel good that I was able to help them.

Terry is a super nice guy, but wasn't the right person for my project. I needed to replace some severely scratched bamboo flooring and although he said he could do it, it was clear this was new for him. My floor did end up being tougher to come apart than expected (not his fault), but as I had limited time, we decided to stop after an hour as there was no way we'd get to the scratched boards within my time window. After he left I noticed circular scratches on the boards near where he was working. That's when I recalled that he worked with hard plastic knee pads. Not something he should have worn on finished floors. The fault lies with me. I placed my ad for general carpentry, and I think he would have been great for that. But for floor work, he wasn't the right person.

First of all it was not new to me. When I started taking apart the floor I found that it was fairly dried out and that it was going to split and splinter rather than come apart cleanly as we had hoped. We were working against a timeline that became unrealistic very quickly. As for any scratches in the floor, I didn't notice them. The kneepads I was wearing do have a plastic surface but they've never damaged any other floors. Some of the less expensive "snap together" floors have a cheaper finish that scratches more easily than others. Hers must be one of those.

Terry disappeared on us! He went to the property to do the job, said he did it, sent me an invoice which I paid. When we went back to the property, the water main was off. Upon turning it back on, we discovered the leak was still there. I've emailed & called, but have not heard back from him!! I just need the job finished!

I did not receive any service. The day we scheduled for the work to be done Terrance Root did not call or show up. I called and left a message but he still did not call. I had to get the exterior painting so my husband that I'm legal separated from came over and helped me do the painting. It was hard for us being older in our 60s but we complete the job. I was disappointed that Upright Construction did not even bother to call.

I really hate this review. I liked this lady too. I wsd really looking forward to doing her job. They say "Shit Happens". It certainly does. Combine that with " when it rains, it pours, and youreesponse to this review.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
This guy had a Koi pond with a waterfall. He said the waterfall was leaking. I told him I could fix it. When I got there it wasn't at all like I envisioned. I thought it was a plumbing job. Not at all. After the water fell it ran along a stream and turned it got past the plastic liner, seeped through the ground out to the path. I bent some plexiglass pieces with a torch tucked them under liner sealed with some mastic and boom it was fixed. I fixed it with some junk I dug out of the back of my truck
