Photography is a passion that I have enjoyed my entire life. Capturing a lifetime of moments through photos is a favorite pastime I want to share with others! I love being able to capture true, raw emotion in a photograph.
For me, the best part of photography is personalizing each session so the client is 110% satisfied with their images and their experience. I love meeting new people, and being invited to capture their most intimate and special moments from a new engagement to meeting the new additions to the family. Hilary was exactly what I was looking for in a photographer. Me and my husband wanted to do pictures with our two choc. lab dogs and Hilary was so perfect! She was able to get the dogs attention for the pics and was so patient with us when it came to getting them in place. She also made me and my husband feel very comfortable throughout all the poses to be sure they looked natural and relaxed. Our cheeks were tired not only from all the smiles but from all the laughing as she and her husband were easy to connect with personally. She moved us around a lot in the location we picked which gave us a variety of different settings in our final pictures. Her turnaround with fast with final editing too. Throughout the entire process Hilary was very responsive and easy to work with. I would highly recommend her to anyone as I hope to have her again for photos in the future!

Hilary did family portraits for my big family of 10. She was great to work with, friendly, open to suggestions, and got us in quickly since we were on a short timeline. The portraits turned out great and her price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend Hilary!

I wanted to have a couples shoot with my husband, this was our first one. It was such a great experience with Hilary. She was absolutely amazing and made the entire processes so simple for us. She was also very accommodating and respected our wishes on some religious requests. My husband wasn't into it at the start but enjoyed himself throughout the shoot, and once the photos arrived he was more excited than I was. He couldn't get over how great the pictures came out! We will definitely be booking all future photo shoots with Hilary :)

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a customer inquires about my services, I ask them about what type of photography they are looking for, quote them a price for the specific session, and find out when and where they would like to have a session.
I always want the client to be happy with their experience from start to finish, and be involved in the decision-making process, if desired. If someone has a general idea of what they're picturing then I will give suggestions of how we can realize that idea. I also will help with location ideas, if they are unsure of that they want! Utah is so pretty that there's a little something for everyone, especially with the constantly changing seasons!
Once the contract is signed and the deposit is paid, I will update the customer of any changes due to weather, if necessary. I am also available if they have any questions or concerns about their upcoming session.
During the session, I will make every effort to keep everyone involved comfortable and happy-- including shy guys and children!
After the session, I will edit the photos and give you lots to view and share with your friends and family. I will email you an online gallery. Depending on your preference, you can choose to download the photos to print on your own or you can order high quality, professional prints from me.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been a photographer ever since I can remember! I've always loved taking photos of anything and everything-- especially my friends, family, and landscapes. It started with disposable film cameras, then I graduated to point-and-shoot digital cameras, and finally I experienced the wonders of a DSLR camera and various lenses. It's a passion that I continue to learn and grow from as I learn new techniques and tricks.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you're looking for portrait photography, take some time and look at the photographer's website, Instagram, Facebook, and blog. Do you like their style? What about their use of color and light? Do they portray the mood you are looking for in your photos? If you're unsure of anything, always ask! Some photographers will include digital files, while others will not. Make sure you ask about what your session fee includes.
