I have earned a Bachelors Degree in flute performance from Wheaton College in Chicago, IL as well as a Masters Degree in flute performance from the University of Tennessee.

Introduction: I provide quality flute lessons in a one-on-one setting. Not only do I teach the fundamentals of performance and musicianship, but I also include elements of music theory and ear training skills during the lesson.
I absolutely love working with students (of all ages) in order to help them grow as a musician.

Lauren is a fantastic teacher and incredible musician. I have had numerous flute teachers over the years, but Lauren shows such dedication and thoughtfulness in her teaching and has gotten me to continue playing after a 20 year break. She is also supportive, compassionate, and fun! She holds me accountable and pushes me to try new styles of music, getting me out of my comfort zone, and resulting in true learning. Lauren has made me love playing my flute again and I look forward to every lesson.

Lauren is super fun to work with and is just an amazing person to be around! She always has a great attitude and is always willing to help or answer questions. I’ve known her for three years now as a student flutist, and I’m always learning something new. She often times would come to my high school and coach flute sectionals, as well as provide private lessons. I believe she is very knowledgeable and experienced in flute teaching and playing. Whether it’s a solo, chamber music, or your part in an large ensemble, she’ll know how to work with you, how to help you achieve your goals, and just improve your overall musicianship. She has so many learning resources and flute repertoire. I’ve been in several flute choirs she’s put on with her students, and been in chamber groups she’s coached. I’ve known her in group settings, with a range of flute instruments, including piccolo. I can tell she enjoys her job and puts so much faith in her students. If there is anything flute related you need, whether it’s finding music, help on a piece, or performance tips, she’ll be happy to provide.

I have been doing flute lessons with Ms. Lauren for almost 3 years now and when watching back on previous videos of when i had started the amount I have improved is crazy to look back on. when doing flute lessons she made it not only fun but also an affective learning environment. I highly recommend her!

My daughter has been taking lessons from Lauren for a while and absolutely loves her. Due to Covid she has not been able to practice with her school band which led us to seek a private teacher. With Lauren’s instruction she has improved so much and will no doubt be one of if not the top flutist in her school. We highly recommend her!
