FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lesson packages range from $200 to $560 a month. Partial school horse leases are $700 a month and include 2 lessons and one practice ride each week. Lessons are sold in monthly packages. The majority of my lessons are private sessions, however I try to accommodate requests for students to ride together in either a semi-private or a group if they ride at the same skill level. My lessons are sold in monthly packages with a minimum of one lesson a week at. I ask my students to commit to a minimum of one month of lessons so I can better plan for and meet the costs of owning a group of school horses. Give yourself an hour and a half in your schedule on lesson day as I my assistant and I will be teaching you new skills even as your grooming and tacking up.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All of my students begin with an Orientation lesson. This is a minimum of 60 minutes for $60.00. Regardless of a students experience we'll cover safe handling, leading, grooming, tacking up, mounting and dismounting safely. Experienced students will generally have time within this hour long session to have a mini-riding lesson. I like to get to know my student's goals and/or specific areas they'd like to learn about or have help with. It's also a great way for a potential lesson student to get to know my teaching style and the quality of the lesson horses so they can make a decision if they'd like to reserve a regular weekly lesson time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began riding as a young girl and dreamed that I would always work with horses. Since those early days I have progressed from horse owner and student followed by competitor in both dressage and hunters along with continuing my education with many more years as a student. I began teaching riding lessons 30 years ago, with many of my students becoming horse owners and show competitors. I evolved along with them as their trainer and coach. Since those early years, I've remained devoted to teaching and the wonderful students and horses I work with. I have been involved with horses for most of my life in one way or another.
